Harris Paints & Chamber of Commerce Fight Bridgetown Litter "Colour Our City Clean Campaign"

"Colour our City Clean Campaign" is a beautification project of The Revitalisation of Bridgetown Initiative (TRBI) aimed at providing more aesthetically appealing garbage disposal facilities in and around Bridgetown. City constituents St. Ambrose Primary, St. Mary's Primary School and First Baptist Church sought to enhance their surroundings by painting cans for placement in garbage prone areas of the city. This initiative was supported by Harris Paints Limited who provided the painting supplies and McBride Caribbean Limited, who provided the cans. According to TRBI Project Coordinator Fabianna Alexander, this is the second time that the initiative is being undertaken. "Colour Our City Clean Campaign," is part of a wider beautification thrust in the City and comes on the heels of the refurbishment of Heroes Square, which was re-fitted with new waste receptacles, benches and lamp posts in an effort to make the City more attractive and provide a tranquil space within Bridgetown," Ms. Alexander said. TRBI was formed in 2008 by the BCCI to stimulate increased economic and social activity within the nation's capital. The initiative includes beautification of the City, enhanced security features such as lighting and CCTV.
