The Award programme is very grateful to Harris paints for its donation and all other sponsors for the camp. During August approximately 200 young participants in pursuit of the silver and gold awards will take part in the two week camp.
Already confirmed to attend the camp are persons from the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia and many others. While the participants are here in Barbados, every opportunity will be used to showcase the island’s rich culture. One of the highlights will be the chance to take in the climax of the Crop Over festival on Kadooment Day.
A team of dedicated volunteers are continuing intense preparatory work to ensure that the camp is an all-round success.
Participants will traverse the island on a hiking expedition that will last over five days and take part in a community service project in conjunction with the Future Centre Trust. (AP)
