Pinelands Cricket Academy gets new Harris Scoreboard

The Pinelands Cricket Academy is now one step closer to realising its dream of making a difference in the community after receiving a scoreboard from long-time supporters Harris Paints. The academy, whose mandate is the complete development of the area's youth through sports and education, was officially presented with the scoreboard yesterday at the Meadow Road field by a representative of the locally-owned business. Chief Executive Officer of the academy as well as Project Co-ordinator Albert Alleyne was present to accept on behalf of the organisation and explained to members of the media that he was pleased with the roll that Harris Paints has been playing. "I want to say a special thanks to Luke Ticknor, Simone Reeves and Michael Babb of Harris Paints who have all worked with us tremendously and tirelessly in assuring that the Pinelands Cricket Academy always receives help and support when we need it. It is always good when you get companies from within the area coming on board to help support the community ventures, and as you can see, this ground is surrounded by a lot of companies and Harris Paints has took the initiative to come on board and really work with us towards developing the youngsters in the area as far as their cricket is concerned." Naming the company as one of the academy's partners in development, Alleyne went on to state that they were also credited with beautifying the pavilion and helping to maintain the field and also took time to thank the United States Embassy, also just a stone's throw away, which offered crucial assistance to the academy. Technical Consultant at Harris Paints Michael Babb represented the company and unveiled the brand new scoreboard. Babb made mention of the company's continued commitment to the Pinelands Academy and noted that they were pleased to be associated with the ongoing programme. "We at Harris Paints are happy to be part of this initiative and we believe that a beautiful community makes a strong community and wherever possible in the future we will be willing to assist in any venture that the Pinelands Cricket Academy may have," Babb said.
