Digicel and Harris Paints recently came together to paint the newly-constructed home of a West Bank Demerara woman who recently benefitted from a 500,000 donation from the phone company to build the house. Digicel, on Valentine's Day, gave away over $8 million to its customers and the less fortunate in celebration of its fourth anniversary. Sandy Accra, whose home was painted on Tuesday, was among the beneficiaries. Digicel's Public Relations Manager Shonnet Moore said when the team visited Accra's home they noticed it was unpainted, and decided to approach Harris Paints with the plan of painting it. “Harris Paints willingly came on board and provided the amount of paint needed to get the job done. We were able to make the life of this family a little more comfortable, and we plan to re-visit the other persons who received assistance from us on our anniversary, which was celebrated on February 14. Nicole Griffith, Harris Paints' representative and also one of the volunteers, noted that her company donated not only paint but painters. "We are encouraging other corporate entities to come on board and donate to the less fortunate in whatever way they can." (PR)
