Residents of the Nightengale Children’s Home are enjoying more attractive surroundings thanks to Harris Paints’ participation in the 2010 Clean Up Barbados Campaign organised by the Future Centre Trust. A team of Harris Paints employees, equipped with paint and paint supplies, recently visited the Black Rock children’s home to repaint the inside of one of the cottages as their innovative contribution to the campaign.
Luke Ticknor, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Harris Paints, said his company welcomed opportunities to give back to the community. “We are pleased to partner with the Future Centre Trust in this worthwhile enterprise. “We are aware of the impact colour can have on people’s moods and thus we thought it fitting that we utilise our knowledge and resources to assist others.
We are happy that the children from the Nightengale Children’s Home are the beneficiaries,” he said. Evadney Aurilien, house parent at the home, said: “It feels like an early Christmas gift that we sincerely appreciate. The cottage which was painted, Lily Cot, is home to six girls who I am sure will enjoy the brightened rooms.” (PR) http://www.nationnews.com/articles/view/harris-paints-adds-colour-to-childrens-home/
