Harris Paints Launches the Great Paint Rescue for Schools!

Harris Paints is excited to invite schools across the island to take part in the Great Paint Rescue. This fun, eco-friendly competition is part of the4th Annual Eco-Fit Youth Programme launched by the Ashley Lashley Foundation.The Eco Fit Youth programme aims to empower primary school students through a combination of environmental education, healthy living, and active engagement. Through Eco Fit Youth, more than 5,000 children ages 4–11 in Barbados have already gained exposure to topics like food sources, physical activity, mental health, climate awareness, and sustainable habits. The programme uses interactive workshops, outdoor and physical challenges, and themed discussions to engage students, inspiring them to take ownership of their health and environmental footprint. The Great Paint Rescue competition aims tohelp protect our environment while giving schools the chance to win fantastic paint prizes. It’s an opportunity for students and teachers to work together, protect the environment, and show off their school spirit.

What is the Great Paint Rescue?

The Great Paint Rescue is a paint recycling challenge designed to reduce waste and encourage responsible disposal. With your school’s support, Harris Paints will collect leftover, water-based paints and reconstitute them into fresh finishes that can be used for future community projects.

Instead of letting unused paint go to waste, this initiative transforms it into something new and valuable, helping our environment while uplifting communities.

How It Works

From September 23rd to October 31st, schools are encouraged to rally their students, parents, and wider community to take part:

Collect: Gather leftover, water-based paint of any brand.
Check: Paint must be in usable condition (not hard, contaminated, or oil-based).
Store: Keep the rescued paint safe at your school until the competition ends.
Count and Collect: In early November, Harris Paints will visit to measure and collect the donations.

Prizes to Be Won

We want to reward schools for their efforts.

Most Gallons Rescued: The school that collects the largest volume of usable paint wins 15 gallons of paint.

Lucky Draw Winner: Another participating school will win 15 gallons of paint, just for taking part.

Extra Reward: For every usable gallon collected, Harris Paints will give back one fresh gallon to your school.
