World's First Single Base Dry Tinting System Introduced in Barbados
At Harris Paints, we are proud to be at the forefront of global paint innovation with the launch of Quantum i12 Dry — the world's first decorative paint tinting system to combine advanced dry pigment pearl technology with a single base colour system.
Unveiled in Barbados, Quantum i12 Dry represents a major breakthrough in the global paint industry and builds on the success of our groundbreaking Quantum i12 colour system introduced four years ago.
Building on a Legacy of Innovation
When we launched Quantum i12, we set out to transform the way colour is created and delivered. The system introduced a single base approach that allows for cleaner, brighter, and more accurate colours while improving consistency and simplifying inventory management for our retail partners.
Since then, Quantum i12 has grown beyond the Caribbean and evolved into The Quantum Corporation, our dedicated innovation subsidiary focused on advancing colour technology. Through this platform, we have also developed a proprietary AI-driven colour matching engine, and this technology is now licensed to paint companies around the world. Today, paints powered by innovation that originated at Harris Paints are being sold in markets as far as Italy and Bangladesh, with more countries continuing to adopt our systems.
Introducing Quantum i12 Dry
Quantum i12 Dry is the latest evolution of this platform, developed in partnership with global advanced materials and colour solutions experts Vibrantz Technologies. This new system introduces innovative dry pigment pearls that replace traditional liquid colourants used in conventional tinting systems. These pigment pearls are created through a specialised process that encapsulates pure pigment without water, resulting in a cleaner, more stable, and highly efficient tinting solution.

Dry pigment pearl technology has been gaining global traction, particularly in Europe where environmental regulations continue to become more stringent. However, Quantum i12 Dry marks the first time this technology has been introduced to the Caribbean — and the first time it has been integrated into a single base system.

What's Next
We will debut Quantum i12 Dry in our most environmentally advanced product, Ulttima Pure Zero VOC Interior Flat Emulsion — the first product to be tinted using the Quantum i12 Dry system. Initially, the system will be available exclusively at our Wildey retail location in Barbados.
