Harris Paints, the Caribbean Champions of Colour, continue to set themselves apart, winning six awards in the 2010 American Advertising Federation (AAF) ADDY awards. Harris Paints copped 2 Gold awards for its "Colours" jingle sang by Barbadian Soca star Nahtalee, while Silvers were each awarded for the reggae and 60 second versions. Red advertising & marketing, the multi-award winning agency responsible for the highly acclaimed jingle, also won Silver awards for their creative work on Harris Paints' "Can You Hear Colour" print and overall Colour Splash campaigns. Luke Ticknor, Harris Paints' Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing said the awards are testimony to the exceptional work done by Red, which captured the message of the Caribbean Champions of Colour: "Harris Paints has always been a leader in its field and Red was able to devise a creative and fitting message, utilising one of Barbados and the region's most popular tunes in recent years. They were also able to illustrate our strong connection to Caribbean culture in the various press campaigns they developed, and we thank them for their superb efforts and congratulate them on their impressive results." Jevan Jutagir, Managing Director of Red advertising & marketing commented on the awards, "These awards commemorate the strong bond that Harris has with its customers as the leading, indigenous manufacturer of paint in the English speaking Caribbean. The use of the Soca hit "Colours" as an anthem was central to our The Caribbean Champions of Colour strategy and Nahtalee did an exceptional job of re-writing this very popular song to highlight Harris' product edge. I'd like to also thank Luke Ticknor and his marketing team for championing great work!" The ADDY Awards is the creative award show of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) of which the Caribbean Advertising Federation (CAF) is a member. The awards are 3 tiered with local shows and awards which feed into regional shows (the CAF is part of the 4th District region which includes Florida, The Caribbean and Puerto Rico) which in turn feed into a National show. Red advertising&marketing Ltd. is Barbados most creatively awarded agency set up in 2002 by principals Jevan Jutagir, Greg Marshall and Maurice Foster. Its contact is Jevan Jutagir 228-4000.
