Known widely for their decorative paint assortment for over 30 years, Harris Paints Guyana reaffirmed their long- standing partnership distributor agreement with global partner International Paint Protective Coatings at the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo last month.

The Senior Manager for High Performance Coatings and Trade at Harris Paints, Simon G Cabral said that the International Paint (IP) brand owned by one of the world’s largest paint companies, Akzo Nobel, were recognized around the world for their innovation and wide range of top quality, protective solutions.

“IP have an incredibly extensive product portfolio tailored to the needs of heavy industry providing durability and protection from corrosion and fire which is critical to Guyana’s oil and gas sector and they have been leading the way in marine coatings for over 130 years” explained Cabral.

The Guyana office of Harris Paints is currently supplying a wide range of specialized epoxies, urethanes and other protective and marine coatings to many of the vessel operators servicing the FPSOs and is also actively working with many Guyanese firms on O&G related fabrication projects, as well as supporting the engineering community with coatings advice for future large infrastructure projects.

According to the Caribbean paint supplier some of the most in-demand products are high performance epoxies, urethanes, linings, fireproofing and anti-fouling solutions. There is also high interest in systems that are easier and faster to apply such as one coat, surface tolerant and rapid cure solutions that are capable of saving literally thousands of dollars in reduced down time.
