At Harris Paints, we are proud to share that our latest EcoVadis sustainability rating has improved by 17 percentage points, earning us the EcoVadis Committed Badge, which recognizes “good” performance when benchmarked against leading companies worldwide.
EcoVadis is one of the most rigorous and widely recognised sustainability assessments in the world. More than 150,000 businesses across 180 countries and 220 industries use it to independently evaluate how companies manage their environmental, social, ethical and supply-chain practices.
It isn’t a self-declared label. EcoVadis reviews our policies, practices, results and supporting documentation across four key areas:
“This is our second time going through the EcoVadis process, and the improvement has been substantial. It is a tremendous gain, and we are only just short of being in the top 35% of all participating multinational companies across all industries. That’s a tremendous achievement.” Dolores Pope, Business Management System Manager
It also shows up in what we make. Products like our Ulttima Pure Zero VOC interior paint reflect our commitment to coatings that are better for the people who use them and the spaces they live in.
“Participating in EcoVadis is important to Harris Paints because it gives us a framework to look critically at how we operate and to measure our progress against internationally recognised expectations. Like our participation in the ISO quality management process, EcoVadis helps us not only to strengthen our sustainable business performance but also to improve our credibility, as one of the most highly respected qualifications across the globe.” Marguerite Desir, Chief Operations Officer and Interim CEO, Harris Paints Group
Sustainability matters more every year to the businesses we work with across the region. Large hotel groups, international partners and global suppliers are paying closer attention to the environmental, social and ethical practices of the companies they choose. For our customers, this rating offers independent assurance that Harris Paints is a partner you can rely on, not just for quality and colour but for responsible business too.
We’re delighted with this result, but we know there’s more to do. We’ll keep using the EcoVadis framework to find new ways to operate more responsibly, and to help set the standard for our industry across the Caribbean.
Thank you to everyone on our team who made this possible, and to our customers and partners who continue to support us along the way.
