As the construction industry in Barbados and around the world continues to evolve and embrace more sustainable, cutting-edge technologies, Harris Paints proudly continues its legacy as a Caribbean paint industry leader by actively supporting this exciting transformation.
This year, we were pleased to participate in the recently held Barbados Annual Construction and Design Conference (BACDC) 2024, where we showcased our innovative prowess to cement our position as a leader in sustainable and technologically advanced coating solutions. Held September 24th - 26th 2024, the BACDC marked its third year as the premier gathering for construction and design professionals in Barbados. The event, which brought together an array of diverse industry experts, students and enthusiasts, offered a strong platform for knowledge sharing, networking and an exploration of the very latest trends shaping the sector, to all in attendance.
Harris Paints' participation in this year's conference was particularly noteworthy, as our very own Luke Tiknor, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, delivered a compelling presentation entitled "Sustainable & New Technologies in Coatings." His presentation showcased our company's commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility and to delivering excellence. Included in this captivating speech was a spotlight on our ultra-long life architectural coatings, based on advanced PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) technology. These coatings represent a significant leap forward in durability and sustainability by offering unprecedented protection against weathering, UV radiation and chemical exposure. With the ability to extend the lifespan of painted surfaces, these coatings reduce the need for frequent repainting and minimize waste as well as environmental impact. Other groundbreaking innovations we proudly presented at this year’s conference included our Cool Roof Technology, which seamlessly combines reflective and emissive properties in a cutting-edge solution to significantly reduce heat absorption by building structures, and the revolutionary integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our color matching process.
By lowering indoor temperatures, our Cool Roof Technology not only improves comfort, but it also leads to substantial long term energy savings in air conditioning costs. This move aligns perfectly with the growing demand for energy-efficient building solutions in the Caribbean region. Our revolutionary Quantum AI Colour Matching software further represents a quantum leap in precision and efficiency as this sophisticated system will analyze and match colors with unprecedented accuracy to ensure that our customers always get the exact shade desired. Our AI-driven approach is an extremely wholistic one as it not only enhances customer satisfaction, but it streamlines the production process, reduces waste and improves overall efficiency.
Conference attendees were also treated to the opportunity to experience our innovations firsthand, as we generously distributed samples of our new Sandtex "non-swirl" textured finish; allowing industry professionals to see and feel the quality of our latest product.
Harris Paints’ Group of Companies is proud to be actively helping to shape the future of construction in the Caribbean. The BACDC’s focus on sustainability and technology for 2024 truly offered us the ideal platform to showcase our innovative solutions and eco-friendly paint technologies, as we keep pace and align ourselves perfectly with the industry's evolution towards greener, more advanced practices.
