Parliamentary Representative for the Vieille Case Constituency Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit has applauded Harris paints Dominica Ltd for its contribution toward the Vieille Case Roman Catholic Church renovation project. On Sunday November 21, 2004, a major earthquake completely destroyed the Vieille Case Catholic Church. The church is currently under construction and Harris Paints has taken care of all the painting needs by donating all the paint required free of charge. The paint was handed over during a ceremony at the church on last week. "I would like to thank Harris Paints for this contribution. As we all know Harris Paints is a local company. They manufacture their paints here in Dominica; they employ people from Dominica so it'svery important for us to patronize them in order for them to be able to make such contributions to a worthy cause, the painting of the Vieille Case Roman Catholic Church," "When we called Harris Paints within a matter of minutes they agreed to assist, so there was no big negotiation taking place to get them to donate all the paint that was requested for the painting of the Catholic Church," The Prime Minister further pleaded with Dominicans to as far as possible support local businesses and local manufacturers. He says, "This is the only way we can build our country," Parish Priest Father Tarimo expressed his gratitude for the support from nationals towards the reconstruction efforts of the church.
