Green Wise is a certification program administered by Coatings Research Group Incorporated.
Products bearing the Green Wise label have been tested and certified by CRGI to meet environmentally determined performance standards established by CRGI’s ISO-accredited facility for specific product types and to meet or exceed the VOC requirements of LEED® for most applications.
Green Wise certified products do not contain certain chemicals which have been determined to be harmful to humans or our environment.
Many North American architects, designers and specifiers recognize the Green Wise symbol as an objective indication that the product in the can is environmentally responsible.
All paints bearing the Green Wise label have been certified to meet or exceed the stringent Green Wise performance standards that include both quality and environmental parameters. These standards are specific for each product type.
Green Wise certified products must meet specific VOC level requirements, and not include any harmful substances such as methylene chloride, 1,2 dichlorobenzene, phthalates, isophorone, formaldehyde, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, and the following heavy metals: antimony, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, lead, and mercury.
After product testing and a review of the paint formula ingredients, the following paints have been granted Green Wise Certification:
No oil-based paints were submitted by Harris for Green Wise certification.
