Indoor cabinetry and floors require a fine, hard finish. Here’s how to refinish plain or previously varnished hard-wearing woodwork.
Thoroughly clean and degrease the surface and allow to dry. Sand smooth with fine grit sandpaper, removing the debris, wiping clean and allowing to dry.
Seal by applying 1-2 coats WoodCare Nitrocellulose Sanding Sealer. Give another light sanding and clean ready for the top coat.
Apply WoodCare Gloss Polyurethane or WoodCare High Performance Poly-Stain (Satin or Gloss) in the desired colour. For best durability recommend applying 4 or more coats. If using a colour, recommend applying a protective clear coat (1-2 coats) of WoodCare Gloss Polyurethane or WoodCare Duraglaze Quick Drying Stain.

While Harris/ B-H Paints do supply specialist High Performance Coatings (HPCs) these fall outside the scope of this guide. HPCs are a class of technically advanced protective coatings designed to give superior levels of impact, abrasion and corrosion protection designed for aggressive environments including high traffic areas and in commercial and industrial applications.
