Champions Of Colour Bring Modern Feel To Portsmouth With New Outlet

Harris Paints, the Caribbean Champions of Colour, are adding more colour to the Portsmouth area with the opening of a new, modern retail store, in partnership with M&R Trading Limited, Building Supply Centre.

The new Harris Destination Store will be officially opened on Thursday, February 24, 2011 and features the modern, customer friendly concepts and systems launched by Harris Paints, including the “Language of Colour” based Colour Chip display, and Harris Paints’ Quick Match Pro. This is the second location being opened by Harris Paints, the sole manufacturer of paints on the island.

Marguerite Desir, Senior Vice President Human Resources & Customer Service, and Head of Business for Dominica and St. Lucia said the new Portsmouth store was developed in response to the growing demand on the island for Harris Paints’ range of quality products: “Our performance in this market has been quite remarkable and as such we took the decision to expand our operations in order to meet the growing demand for our quality paint and paint supplies. As Caribbean Champions of Colour we wanted to ensure all of our services were made available to the people of Dominica, thus we sought to undertake the development of a more modern facility to showcase all of what we have to offer.”

Harris Paints’ “Language of Colour” colour chip display provides customers with a tool where every colour is a combination of different colour characteristics – colour, shade and mood, and have been grouped into four mood-inspired collections – Luxurious, Warm, Fresh and Calm – guaranteed to harmonize together. This creates a unique and easy-to-use colour system, taking the hassle out of choosing the right combination of colours.

This will be prominently displayed at the new Portsmouth store, along with the Quick Match Pro, a handheld electronic “colour camera” which scans colour swatches, paint chips, fabrics, virtually anything, and quickly list the closest matches from within Harris Paints’ 6,000 plus colour range. The devices also have a Virtual Fandeck included which recommend matching colours based on the Language of Colour mood groups, as well as list the lighter and darker shades of the colour that was scanned.
